For years I have struggled getting my business going. Mostly because of personal life obligations, but also because I was stubborn. I didn't want to make all these social medias for my business, and I was intimidated with trying to make a website. Nor did I have the money.
Now that I am finally at a point that I felt confident in building my brand, I've taken the leap. What people don't warn you about, is just how much brain power and time it takes. especially when trying to design a website from scratch with zero experience whatsoever. also having limited experience with social medias. Never before have I actually been able to make something official when it came to my business. and it has taken me DAYS to update and add social medias, and of course to build a website.
Why My Business Needed Both Social Media, and a Website
Many small businesses rely solely on social media, but having a website adds credibility and control. Social media platforms are great for reaching audiences quickly and engaging with followers. However, a website acts as your home base where you control the content, design, and user experience. Using both together creates a seamless experience.
My business functions almost completely off of commissions. I am slowly working on making things behind the scenes to sell as separate products. However the majority of what I do is making things for other people. Because of this I needed a simple and effective way to showcase my work, list the things I do have made, and have a way for people to contact me. All these things are made simpler through having a lot of different social medias available; as well as a website that makes all of those things easy to see/do in one place.
